This coverage contains points representing the locations of stream gage stations in Iowa, obtained from USGS NWIS database. Information for the Point Attribute Table (PAT) was obtained from the book "Atatistical Summaries of Selected Iowa Streamflow Data through September 30, 1988" form US Geological Survey. "Water Resources Data for Iowa for Water Year 1993" from US Geological Survey. Data was also obtained form the National Weather Service in Des Moines, IA, and the US Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District.
This digital, geographically referenced data set was developed by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources to carry out agency responsibilities related to management, protection, and development of Iowa's natural resources.
